The White Band is a hybrid professional community connecting law students, lawyers, advocates and legal professionals through meaningful conversations, practical learning, mentorship and opportunities.
Why we started
Technology has changed how we learn and connect. Lectures travel. Notices travel. Introductions can happen in a message.
Some professional relationships still begin in a real conversation. They grow through shared work, a question asked after the formal session, and the feeling of being in the room.
That is the gap The White Band is built for. Not another feed to scroll. A community that uses the digital world for access, and the physical world for belonging.
Indore is home. The audience is not limited to one city.
Our mission
To connect the legal fraternity through practical learning, mentorship, professional opportunities and meaningful experiences, online and in person.
We do this with gatherings, programs, an opportunities board, and member-led work. We do not do this by ranking lawyers, selling legal services, or pretending a website can replace chambers.
Our vision
To become a trusted community where people across the legal profession can connect, learn, find opportunities and grow throughout their legal journey.
Trust here means a room you can enter as a first-year student and still recognise as a junior, as an arguing counsel, or as someone who teaches. The forms will change. The standard should not: useful, hospitable, and precise.
Belong before you wear it.
The white band on an advocate’s collar is one of the most precise visuals in the profession. It stands for the tablets of law, and for being called to the bar.
The White Band takes that image seriously. A student can belong to this community before they own the cloth. A junior can belong without performing seniority. A senior can belong without being asked to advertise.
The name is not tied to one city, which matters as the community grows. The mark is two collar tabs. No gavel, no scales, no decoration that turns the profession into a prop.
